Operation: Kinguin #2 with $20,000

Kinguin has announced the second edition of its 'Operation' tournament, featuring an increased prize pool of $20,000.
Last month, Kinguin launched a new CS:GO tournament called 'Operation', featuring four teams and $2,000 in prize money. Turkish side Space Soldiers came out on top of the tournament after beating Vexed Gaming 2-0 in the grand final.
For the second iteration, which will be kicking off on January 18, Kinguin has decided to expand the tournament from four to 32 teams while increasing the prize pool tenfold to $20,000.
Twenty-eight spots in the main tournament will be filled through invites, while the remaining four places will go to the leading teams from the two online qualifiers that will be held.
XANTARES' Space Soldiers won the first edition of Operation:Kinguin
Teams can sign up for the open qualifier, scheduled for this weekend, by heading over to CEVO's website. A second qualifier, featuring eight invited teams, will run from January 13-15. The winner of the open qualifier and the top three teams from the closed qualifier will advance to the main tournament.
Operation: Kinguin #2 will kick off with two group stages, followed by an eight-team single-elimination bracket.
All teams interested in applying for a spot in the main tournament or in the closed qualifier should email the organisers at events@viwa.gg.
